Treasured is a textile collection focusing on craftsmanship, cherishing both timeless techniques and cherished memories. Utilising the potential of often overlooked materials, such as tickets and seaweed and illustrating their significance to me as they hold personal memories. While using textiles techniques which are made to last and be treasured, I am also treasuring and holding onto my own memories and making these last. Pieces include beaded and treasured objects, as well as scarves featuring a bespoke hand-beaded tag.
BEADED TICKETS
Tickets imbued with a personal memory, intricately embellishing them to enhance and protect the cherished memories. The Musei Vaticani ticket took 19 hours and used 1247 beads. The Metrolink ticket took 30.5 hours and used 2002 beads.
Displaying the craftsmanship devoted to the beading technique by exposing the back stitch on the tickets is important to this project. This aspect is just as significant as the adorned beading on the front of the tickets.
THE SCARF COLLECTION
A silk scarf collection inspired by gathered fragments of materials, tickets and drawings of places visited. Each scarf is adorned with a hand beaded tag.

BEADED TAGS
Fusing the concept of beaded tickets with my scarf designs by creating intricate beaded tags, available in both card and silk. Customised to complement each unique scarf design, these tailored tags elevate the scarves into bespoke pieces. The first beaded tag used 431 beads, the second used 456 beads and the third used 416 beads.
Emphasising the craftsmanship remains integral to the creation of the card beaded tags.
